This policy explains how LMK Media, doing business as MyHomeGuides (“MyHomeGuides,” “we,” “us”), handles information when you use myhomeguides.net (the “Site”). MyHomeGuides is a free educational resource covering home improvement, selling, home equity, security, solar, and yard care. We are not a lender, bank, broker, or real estate brokerage, and we do not offer or arrange financing of any kind.
If you sign up for text updates you give us your first name and your mobile number, and you may also give us your last name, your home state, and the topic you are most interested in. If you write to us through the contact form you give us your name, your email address, and your message. Nothing else on the Site asks for personal information, and you can read every guide without giving us anything.
We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, your date of birth, your income, or your bank or account numbers. We never pull your credit and we have no ability to do so.
Like most websites we receive standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the page that referred you. We keep a record of the IP address, browser string, page, and timestamp attached to any consent you give us, because that is the record that proves you gave it.
MyHomeGuides does not run advertising pixels or third party marketing trackers. The seasonal checklist remembers the boxes you tick in your own browser. That stays on your device and is never sent to us.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
If you opt in to text messages from MyHomeGuides, that opt-in covers messages from MyHomeGuides only. It is governed by our SMS Terms. You can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by using our opt-out page.
Opting in to text messages is never required. You can read every guide and use every tool on the Site without giving us a phone number at all.
Requests go to compliance@myhomeguides.net. We answer within 45 days.
If you are a California resident you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the rights to know, delete, and correct apply and you can exercise them at the address above. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Information is encrypted in transit. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the Site. Sign-ups, messages, and consent records are stored in a private database that is not reachable from the public internet. We keep your sign-up for as long as you stay subscribed, and we keep consent records for as long as we are required to, which is what lets us prove that an opt-in was genuine.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Site is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
